About the LPFA

Founded in 1979, the Los Padres Forest Association is the official non-profit 501(c)(3) of the Los Padres National Forest. The LPFA mission is to care for the Los Padres Forest, ensuring it thrives and remains safe and open for the people to use and enjoy.

*Event organizers reserve the right to deduct the cost of the athlete’s insurance, bib/ timing chip and t-shirt cost from each athletes entry fee. Event organizers anticipate after deductions an amount of $22.50 from each entry fee will be donated to the LPFA

SB 10 Mile Summary:

Hosted from the Lower Oso Day Use Area, Santa Barbara 10 Mile offers athletes of all calibers an exceptionally rewarding and challenging trail running experience. The route is comprised of single track trails loaded with plenty of climb and fast meandering descents cut through the verdant California Chaparral, offering dramatic views of the Santa Barbara backcountry topography in its late spring glory.

Entry Fee Includes: Entry for one person, chip timing, online results, custom entrant bibs, pre-run fueling station, well stocked & staffed aid stations, post run snacks and beverages. T-shirt will be issued for “Finisher Awards”

Does the SB 10 Mile have club or group discounts? Yes, we will extend discounts to groups registering 4 or more athletes. Contact: Robert Gilcrest at (eight zero five) 896-6917.

Do you have discount option for active Forest Service, Military, Peace Officers or Civil Service personnel? Yes, we extend 25% discount to active duty military, peace officers or civil service personnel. Contact: Robert Gilcrest at (eight zero five) 896-6917.  


    ● 10 Mile athletes must be 16 years or older. All minors must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian


Photo ID at check-in (driver’s license, passport etc.) if requested


10 Mile athletes are suggested to have on their possession a minimum of one 18 fl. oz. hand held or fluid bladder. Temperatures in the backcountry canyons can become extremely hot, slow runners can expect to durations of 45+ minutes between aid stations

  • ● 4:30 – 5:15pm  SB 100 Mile – Mandatory athlete, pacer & crew pre-run meeting, SB 100k and SB 10 Mile athletes are encouraged to attend
  • ● 6pm Santa Barbara 100 Mile Start
  • ● 6:30pm – 9pm Athlete check-in continued
