Hosted from Santa Barbara Jr High School Athletic Field (Elev. 49’) SB100®Mile offers athletes of all calibers an exceptional endurance run experience. The out and back route utilizes many of Santa Barbara’s enduring trails like San Ysidro, Romero, North Romero, Blue Canyon, Cold Springs, Rattle Snake, Franklin and Divide Peak OHV. Loaded with challenging climbs and epic descents, the route offers dramatic views of Montecito, Santa Barbara, Channel Islands and Dick Smith Wilderness. Athletes will begin and finish the run with a 3.5-mile section that traverses through the lower Riviera and Mission Canyon neighborhoods and past the historic Santa Barbara Mission and Rose Garden.

100 mile pacers can start at Montecito Aid Station (mile 54.8). Exceptions granted by request

This event will challenge you to your core, but experiencing the majestic vistas that await you after a long incline or feeling the ocean breeze while you look over the Pacific Ocean, these are the moments that take your breath away. Entry Fee Includes: Entry for one athlete, SB100® T-shirt, athlete bib w/timing tag, pre-run fueling station, well provisioned & staffed aid stations, SB100® finisher awards and post run Sunday lunch and trademark SB100® Mile Finisher Buckle (Sub 24 Hr. Gold | Sub 30 hr. Silver Buckle | Sub 36 Hr. Bronze)

About the LPFA Founded in 1979, the Los Padres Forest Association is the official non-profit 501(c)(3) of the Los Padres National Forest. The LPFA mission is to care for the Los Padres Forest, ensuring it thrives and remains safe and open for the people to use and enjoy. In the 2016 fiscal year LPFA & VWR supervised and completed over 15,000 volunteer hrs. of sanctioned trails and forest accessibility projects in the greater LPNF

Each year the LPNF coordinates and supervises two trail sanctioned & scheduled trail maintenance projects on portions of the SBER™ route(s)

The LPFA has hosted and staffed an aid station each year since the inception of the run.


  • SB100® Mile minimum age requirement is 18 years of age. No Exceptions!
  • Endorsed the Athlete Waiver & Indemnification Agreement
  • Completed $25.00 (minimum) charity contribution to the Los Padres Forest Association
  • Mentally and physically conditioned to run 100 miles of challenging mountain trails and roads for a period of up to 36 hrs.
    • Mandatory

      • Photo ID at check-in (driver’s license, passport etc.) is required at time of athlete check-in.
      • Each athlete is required to maintain on their possession a minimum of two 18 fl. oz. hand helds or an equivalent proportion fluid bladder.

      Santa Barbara 100® Mile honors those that sign up in advance for the Solo Runner award. Solo Runners are awarded a limited-edition hat and a badge that is affixed to the finisher buckle

      There are 15 well-stocked and staffed aid stations provisioned with, cots, chairs, canopies, porta potties and HAM communications; 9 locations for athlete Drop Bags; 5 locations for pacers to start; 9 accessible locations for athlete’s crew support

      Aid Station menu:

      • Cold fluids i.e. Water, Electrolyte Fluid, Coca Cola and Ginger Ale
      • Ice
      • Salty Snacks
      • Seasonal Fruits
      • Assorted candies
      • Soup
      • Coffee
      • Sandwiches
      • Quesadillas
      • Potato Cakes (in lieu of boiled potatoes)

      Shuttle service will be available for pacers, crew and DNF athletes. Outbound drop off and pick-up schedule and fee rates will be posted June 1, 2017.

      Cut-off time is defined as “Departed Time” (see Aid Stations Cut-off Schedule for prescribed times)
